Dirty Place

Sit in silence and hear voices through walls
very clearly
Listen wearily

Wonder numbly of this frail existence
What’s the purpose?
Seems so worthless

Face the world - make sure to wear a smile
Bright and shining
Hide behind it

Peer through dusty windows with a look of disgust.
A town holds many secrets
but what if there is no one to trust?

Birds sing for the sun but she will not show her face.
She’s given up on givin’ life to this dirty place.

We think we thrive but we are slowly dying
Just time we’re buyingand children crying…
